We love designers that strive to set new boundaries. Scratch that. We love designers that don’t know limits and whose creativity opens up a whole new horizon.
Bea Szenfeld spring/summer 2014 collection did that and way more. The whole concept might be best described as ‘paper couture’ because well, yes, it is couture, and yes, it is made out of paper. The whole collection was very playful and we couldn’t help but to smile while the models walked the runway.
Interesting shapes, animals, cut outs, pieces that needed to be worn by two models – it all made for an amazing show. Every detail was perfect, from the invitations to the music and everything in between. Bea Szenfeld made an unconventional material like paper look so natural on the runway that you had to get a closer look to make sure there is no magic tricks or some sorcery behind her pieces. There were many interesting shapes, dresses that had such beautiful movement and even accessories like gloves and sunglasses.
Bea left us wanting more and wondering what will she prepare for the next season. We can’t wait to find out!
