We’ve found out about Hale Güngör Oppenheimer ’s work a while and we are really happy we did. Hale was born in Turkey, but lived most of her childhood in Switzerland. She graduated in 2004 at Parsons School of Design in Paris and furthered her studies in fine arts at Pratt Institute in New York in 2009. Nowadays she is based in Stockholm and is represented by PG Art Gallery Istanbul.
She has many beautiful project, but our favorite was part of the “[]“ (brackets signs) exhibition hosted at the PG Art Gallery in Istanbul last year. The project is a pop-up artist notebook that is meant to “enable a link between the daily lives of artists and their artworks and make visible the meaningful and meaningless images in the unconsciousness of the artists.”
We like a lot Hale Güngör Oppenheimer ’s notebook called “A space in between”. It reminds us a bit of childhood and it makes us dreamy. Next month (12 to 15 November) she will be showing her work in Istanbul, so if you’ll be around stop by and let us know how it was. We’re sure it’s going to be worth it.
