Today I am happy to re-entroduce our When in articles where we’ll be recommending some of our favourite spots and cool places that we discover. Traveling and finding great bookstores, coffee shops, restaurants and so on is one of our passions, so we wanted to share some finds with you. Where better to start but in our dear Stockholm and with one of my all time fave places – Berns.
Berns (it’s pronounced bensh or something like that) is in the centre of the breathtaking capital and it’s located near Kungsträdgården area (and subway stop). Beautiful building dates back to 1863 and you will definitely enjoy the touch of glamour from old times with hanging crystal chandeliers and painted walls. This is the place that will satisfy all of your needs while in town. It is a luxurious hotel with a great restaurant, bar and a club. Doesn’t that sound marvellous, having all that fun under one roof? Berns Asiatiska provides interesting mixes of swedish and asian dishes. It was the first Chinese restaurant in Stockholm and it still provides various asian dishes. The bar upstairs will supply you with delicious drinks and refreshing cocktails, and you can even enjoy the terrace part, if the weather allows it of course. So, after you have satisfied your appetite and grabbed a few drinks with your friends, it’s time to go dancing. But, don’t worry. Just a few steps away you’ll find the dance room with gorgeous tall ceilings and great music (in the photo bellow). I ended up dancing the night away in there so many times. For me Berns = great time + great memories.
Just to prove my point on how awesome Berns is, I’ll tell you that their big saloon is part of the Fashion Week location and many famous designers choose to show their collections right there every season. To count it all up Berns has great food, drinks, music, architecture and space and if you are in Stockholm it would be silly to miss it.
