Fashion Week is always a fun period filled with excitement about the new season, discovering new favourite designers and pieces, and also finding inspiration in pretty much everything and everyone around yourself. TSD team had been fortunate to attend Stockholm Fashion Week for the past few years and I can honestly say it’s always a true pleasure. I will try to write more about that whole experience soon, but until then we focus on some of favourite shows I saw and the collections where I want to own basically every look from head to toe. Here’s the hottest from Stockholm Fashion Week fall/winter 2016.
House of Dagmar
As House of Dagmar is one of my favourite Swedish brands, it is no wonder I’m always super excited to see their new collection. As usually, they did not disappoint as the runway was filled with leaves and the fog was rising from the ground adding extra layer of mystery and giving me chills as the models walked by. Dark rich colours were mixed with black and brown, with only a few brighter pieces. Silhouettes were quite feminine with pencil skirts and belts that accentuated the waist. I am not a big fan of winter, but Dagmar made me look forward to the next one just so I could wear their pieces.
Stylein
Sweden is famous for its minimalistic style, and Stylein knows how to put their twist on it. Mostly in black, white and grey the collection was stripped to the basics that were transformed into essentials for every modern girl. It was a play between masculine and feminine details, very strong but somehow very subtle as well.
Ida Sjostedt
Ida is a well known name on swedish fashion scene. Her designs are for a bad ass modern day princess that is playful and not afraid to stand out. The collection had everything, from wearable pieces to show stoppers to amazing dresses that are made of dreams. Unlike previously mentioned minimalistic vibes, Ida’s pieces are louder and not shying away. She uses colour, shapes, prints, sequences and sometimes all at once to portray her vision.
