Romania is a country that has many treasures to offer to its tourists and Turda Salt Mines is one of them. Located in one of the most know regions of the country – Transylvania, Salina Turda was recently transformed into the world’s largest salt museum. What’s even more amazing about it is the very sci-fi look of it.
The restoration of the old mines means that “in the Rudolph Mine were built: a panoramic lift, a mini golf track, two mini-bowling tracks, a sports field, a 180-seat amphitheater, a carousel and a playground for children. Theresa Mine is opened to the public, access is now possible through mine hearth circulation compartment by the stairs or a lift. The underground lake has been arranged to give the tourists a romantic boat ride to 112 m deep in the mountain of salt. Gisela-Mine (the stationary room) was adapted and transformed to serve exclusively the work of health treatment. And there was arranged a second entry into the mine – Salt Valley, the Durgau.”
So you can take your grandma and your kids and visit Salina Turda. There is something interesting and entertaining for every age.
