As you know, we like to share our playlists with you on Saturdays. What better way to enjoy your weekend than with some great music, right? Well, this weekend we bring you our recommendations, but not in a form of music. I listen to podcasts quite often (it’s the best for long commutes) and I’m always looking for some new ones. So, today I thought about sharing some of my all time favourites as well as asking you to share yours. Here comes my top 10 podcasts you must check out.
TED Radio Hour – I am a sucker for all things related to TED, and their podcast is no exception. You can learn so much from their show and have a lot of fun while doing it. The topics are quite versatile and they usually speak with people that have the experience of talking on the TED stage.
The Tim Ferriss Show – Super educational pod with topics that you may or may not be into. One thing’s for sure – whatever Tim Ferriss decides to talk about he will have great experts discussing the matter with him. I have, personally, learned a lot about my body and how to treat it properly from this show.
Freakonomics Radio – This pod will explain in 30 – 40 minutes lots of interesting everyday economic matters and you will have so much fun with it you won’t even realise it’s about economics.
Here’s the Thing (with Alec Baldwin) – Yes, you read it right, Alec Baldwin is hosting this show, and let me tell you – he is really good at it. Lots of interesting topics, great interviews and some celebrities – do I need to say more?
Death, Sex + Money – Here they talk about everything that is a part of life but might not get enough attention. It’s about real life stories that include sickness, divorce, financial problems and so on. Not to make it sound as fun as being out on a stormy day without an umbrella, give it a chance and you just might be surprised and enjoy it.
Stuff You Should Know – This is for the curious ones that like to know a bit about everything. Every episode has a theme that is talked about for around 45 minutes. You can learn about Feng Shui, how perfumes work, and even about chilli peppers. Dive in into their feed and be amazed with all the topics they did.
Pop Culture Happy Hour – Your weekly dose of pop culture. This is another pod fro NPR and it’s for all the lovers of books, movies and music. I found out about it just recently so I can’t say too much, but if you’re a pop culture appreciator, this might be for your ears.
Call Your Girlfriend – Listen to two long distance friends talk to each other about all kinds of topics (mostly girl-related). It feels like you are with them actually participating in the conversation. It makes me miss my long distance bestie (insert sad face here).
Bill Burr’s Monday Morning Podcast – You either like Bill Burr or you don’t and same goes for his podcast. He talks about everything and nothing for an hour, improvising as he goes. Some harsh language might be involved, just so you know.
Hardcore History – As the name says, this one is hardcore and it’s for real history geeks. It goes deep into details so you will have numerous hours of programme covering a certain historical event. Get your headphones ready, make yourself comfortable and travel back through history.
Those are our top 10 podcasts. What pods do you guys most enjoy listening? Any recommendations on what we should add to our list?
