Esteban Cortazar

  • 7 August 2013

Esteban Cortazar is a colombian young designer and when we say young we mean age-wise, because even though he is only 29 years old, he already made a name of himself.

Esteban CortazarThe moment that opened all the gates to the fashion world to Esteban Cortazar has happened in 2007, when at the age of 23 he was appointed creative director at Emanuel Ungaro. The collaboration didn’t last too long, in 2009 he left the famous brand after they decided to make Lindsay Lohan creative consultant. The designer told Interview Magazine that “ the arrival of Lindsay Lohan felt like a strategy to generate press, not a genuine, organic choice”.

We can only say that we love the minimal design of his garments and how everything looks elegant yet easy to wear. You can see through all his garments his love for craftsmanship and that he treats every piece with a lot of care. And after the story with Ungaro, our respect for him reached other levels and gave us trust that there are still designers that don’t do it only for fame.
