Talking with Eleonora Carisi

  • Doina Tatu
  • 27 August 2015

Our love for Eleonora Carisi started a while back and it grew bigger as time passed. She is an Italian fashion blogger, photographer and designer.

Her unique style that she uses to express herself charmed numerous readers and people from the fashion industry. Last year we managed to have a little talk with this beauty and here’s what she shared with us…

Tell us who is Eleonora Carisi and who is Jou Jou Villeroy and where do they meet?

Eleonora is a girl who’s always looking up, stumbling hither and thither, but with a smile on her face. JouJou is circus tumbler and a dreamer as well. She loves to rock on her trapeze dressed up in white feathers. She’s unique.

What’s the philosophy behind “What’s inside you” and more specifically why this name?

The concept is behind the “you” word. “You” like you, like me. What’s Inside You is what you have inside, and what’s better than this payoff to express the research work and the passion behind my brand WIY?

How do you manage to juggle all the things that you are involved in?

It makes my hair turn white. I really don’t know how I do, but I guess my passion leads me to never give in.

If not fashion what else?

Photography.

What was the biggest challenge you’ve faced when you’ve started your own blog?

Numbers. Facing other realities with bigger numbers.

Is there a special person that influenced your style? And who were your style icons when you were growing up?

The women in my family: my grandma and my mom.

Traveling is a daydream, but you often get homesick, wishing to be close to your beloved ones.

We know you travel a lot, which sometimes can be a bit difficult. How do you cope with it? Do you ever get home sick?

It’s not so easy and not everyone understands it. Like for everything, there are positive and negative sides. Traveling is a daydream, but you often get homesick, wishing to be close to your beloved ones. During lonely or sad times, I try to surround myself with small tokens.

Who is on your playlist right now?

Little Dragon, Beyoncé, Francesco Rossi.

Which is the quality you like the most in a person?

When someone asks me how I am.

What is your motto in life?

freetobeyou.

Which is the moment in your career that you are the most proud of so far?

At the moment, my capsule collection for Zalando. A collaboration which ordained me as a fashion designer, as well as strengthening my brand, from which we drew inspiration! Available from March 3.

Where do you see yourself in five years from now?

At the psychologist’s.

The best part is the dream becomes more tangible when you are in the fashion entourage. The worst one is you just dream less.

Which are, in your opinion, the best and the worst sides of fashion?

The best part is the dream becomes more tangible when you are in the fashion entourage. The worst one is you just dream less.
