Movies for him and her

  • Ivona Josipovic
  • 27 November 2015

I was thinking lately about that famous (or should I say infamous?) saying that women are from Venus and men are from Mars. Well, we are all from planet Earth, but sometimes our differences can make us feel universe apart. We are different in many ways and I feel like neither males of females are quite aware of our differences. I think that sometimes we are faster in judging the other side instead of trying to understand someone’s behaviour. That’s what inspired my selection of movies. I wanted to recommend some films that show a more realistic side of life and male and female relationships. They may not have romantic kisses in the rain, or the happily-ever-efter kind of ending, but neither does life. They show complex sides of love that romantic comedies tend to run away from. So, I warned you, if you want a fairytale like story, this is not the list for you. If you want to have fun and maybe learn something about guys/girls, relationships and life, well it’s you that I am talking to. The movies start with the funniest one and become, let’s say, more interesting near the end. I give you 3 options and I really hope you will share some of your favourite films in the comment section.

He’s Just Not That Into You

This is a must see for every girl. It puts some things into respective and teaches us not to waste our time waiting for his call. After all, he might not be into you.

movies

The Break-Up

When a relationship reaches certain point and things start going south, it can get ugly. Break-ups are usually messy and this movie shows it. It also shows some situations that most women will relate to and guys should pay attention to. Just look for the “washing the dishes” moment. Haven’t we all been there?

movies

Don Jon

This one is offering a peek into guy’s world. I am not suggesting that all men live like this, far from it, but I think it’s worth watching. It’s about growing, learning about yourself and discovering what love is for you.

Oh dear, is it strange that I haven’t seen any of these?! LOL! I have to admit that I am not really a chick flick person, I love horror, zombies and action movies. Maybe I’m a little weird…

I’ve seen the first two but not Don John. can’t even say i’d heard about it but it’s certainly worth a preview. i love he’s just not that into you. i saw that a few weeks after a breakup and it helped put things into perspective, about the male mind that is.

I haven’t seen Don Jon yet, I keep saying I’ll watch it and somehow never get to it. I love The Break-Up, Vince Vaughn is too funy. I wasn’t a huge fan of ‘He’s Just Not That Into You.” I found it a bit slow in some parts and kind of choppy.

I have to check to see if Don Jon is still on Netflix!
