Living in a Van Gogh painting

  • Doina Tatu
  • 11 February 2016

Did you ever look at a painting so much that you felt like you got lost in it? Well, The Art Institute of Chicago offers us the opportunity to enter a real life painting – a recreation of Van Gogh’s “The Bedroom”.

You can too rent the artistic bedroom on AirBnb and live for a while in a Van Gogh world. The installation exhibits 36 of the artist’s work and comes to celebrate the show called “Van Gogh’s Bedrooms” that talks about the three paintings of his personal space. It also marks the first time that the three paintings are at the same time in North America.

Van Gogh's Bedroom

The cost of the room is 10$ per night, but I think it’s actually worth much more than that. I think an experience like this is priceless and who thought of doing it was beyond creative. I would totally love going there but I have no plans to visit Chicago until 10th of May when it will close. If you happen to be there anytime soon, go and rent it at least for one night! And then tell us how it was!

For us other unfortunate people, there’s always the Instagram and Facebook page  of the Art Institute of Chicago where we can learn more about it.

Oh, that would be a great gift for my boyfriend. He loves Van Gogh and I’m sure he would enjoyed it a lot. Well, me too. 🙂
