What do I want?

  • Doina Tatu
  • 21 February 2016

The other night I was watching this movie called “The Women” – it was one of those nights when all you want is to watch a movie that won’t make you think too much, but it actually had the opposite effect. It made me think a lot about this one little question – “What do I want?”. When was the last time when you tried to find an answer to this question? I can honestly say I haven’t thought about it in so long. All day I’m thinking about what the others want and how I can fulfill their needs, and little by little I am coming to a point where I am putting even my dog’s needs before mine.

life

Why do we give others so much power and why do we give so little to the most important person in our lives – ourselves?! I remember once a friend told me that if you’re not happy with yourself, you won’t be able to make anyone else happy. So in order to help others, first you have to and need to help yourself.

It’s not about being selfish, it’s just about doing something for yourself. So take a little break from your normal life and ask yourself “What do I want?” If the answer matches what you already have and maybe have been working on, well keep up the good work. If you have a different answer, then you should start changing things little by little until achieving what you really want. I know changes are scary, but if made one step at a time, it can take you a long way.

I often overthink everything way too much. It DEFINITELY just makes matters worse and i think a lot of the time just talking about it with people that are close to you can really make a difference. Great post!

Yes, I too have a tendency to overthink stuff instead of just clearing it out with someone else. Really glad you liked it.
