Searching for the perfect swimsuit

  • Doina Tatu
  • 8 August 2017

Summer means a lot of different things for each of us, like relaxing, fun times with friends, beach body and the perfect swimsuit.

I don’t know about you, but every year when spring is about to end, I start my search for the perfect swimsuit.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like I have my closet full of swimsuits. Definitely not. But that thrill of finding that perfect one is aaaaargh. I know it’s out there and I know that one day it will be mine. All mine!

Let me explain to you what perfect swimsuit means to me. First of all, it has to be one toned. I’m not a big fan of prints, but if it’s cute enough (and not too out there) I can make an exception. The fabric has to be of quality, and the bottom part HAS to be either double or quite thick (is that weird?!). I’m a two piece girl, the less coverage the better, but not too extreme (I ain’t into “is it there is it not” games). Last but not least, the price has to be acceptable. I mean I am wearing this thing, let’s say a month tops in the whole year (though I would actually say 2 weeks tops, but I’m generous today).

That being said, here I am taking you to 5 virtual stores that I think got what it needs to be accepted on my “they might have it this year” list.

RYE

Rye is an Australian swimwear brand founded in 2015 by Alyssa Carter and Bonnie O’Hare. Their designs are fun, young and ready for the beach life.

FELLA

Fella is yet another Australian brand that we just adore. The idea behind their designs? Well, they say: “We felt the swimwear market lacked a label that was simplistic but sophisticated, so high-quality fabrications and beautifully tailored patterns became our focus. We design swimsuits that create support from their construction and are functional from day to night.” – Designers Rosie Iffla and Christine Tang.

SeaFolly

SeaFolly is yet another Australian swimsuit brand (yes, you got us, we are in love with Australian swimsuit brands) founded in 1975. Their purpose is to “share the spirit of Australian Summer with women everywhere”.

Banana Moon

Banana Moon is a brand that we loved for a looong time now. Their designs are perfect, just like they’re made especially for us. (and we like to believe they are)

Billabong

Billabong is yet another swimsuits brand that we’ve been following for a long time now. Every year we get back on their website we feel the need to buy everything. ASAP.

We hope you liked our selection. Let us know what is your favourite swimsuits brand.
