Redken Scalp Relief Oil Detox Shampoo review

  • Ivona Josipovic
  • 11 July 2018

I have tried everything to get rid of my oily hair and I am so happy to share with you the only thing that’s given me any results – Redken Scalp Relief Oil Detox Shampoo.

I tried a lot of tips and tricks to make my hair less oily and the only thing that I kept coming back to was my beloved dry shampoo. Then, after hearing about it on a podcast, I decided to try out the Redken Scalp Relief Oil Detox Shampoo. I’ve never spent so much on a shampoo before, but I was desperate and figured it’s worth giving it a try. My expectations were quite low as everything I’ve tried before didn’t work. But, it turns out Redken has figured out some magic formula that works on my oily hair!

Redken Scalp Relief Oil Detox Shampoo has a lipa-sponge system that equalizes scalp’s pH and controls excess oils. In other words – it works! The shampoo has a slightly unusual consistency and reminded me of clay when I first used it. It smells citrusy and leaves your hair and scalp very clean. The shampoo I used before never made my hair feel so clean. It is hard to explain, but now my hair feels lighter and with a bit more volume. However, this did come with a price as my hair also feels a bit harsher and less soft. But, choosing between these options, I’d go for clean over soft any day.

Not only does this shampoo make my hair feel cleaner right after the wash, the feeling/look also lasts longer. I can’t say exactly how long as it depends (did I work out, was it super hot and sweaty outside and so on), but I am good for around 3 days and that’s without the dry shampoo. For me, fresh clean hair for 3 days is like a miracle. I would warmly recommend trying Redken Scalp Relief Oil Detox Shampoo. It was definitely worth the money and I plan on buying it again and again.
