You know I’m very into natural ingredients so trying SELF cosmetics skincare products was a prefect match.
It is very hard to protect ourselves from all the bad chemical, as they are pretty much everywhere these days. So my strategy on that is to try to find as many good products with natural ingredients as possible. That’s why I was super excited to try SELF cosmetics skincare products that are chemical-free.
As skin is our biggest organ, taking good care of it is super important and the older I get I am more ‘protective’ of my skin. That is why I’ve been turning more and more to the natural products and companies. One of them is the Self, a company that produces their 100% natural products in the Netherlands. I loved their brand from the first sight, as it all seemed to fit so nicely – from the name that I love to the adorable recyclable packaging. But, what about the products?
I decided to first try one face and one body care products. It wasn’t easy choosing which one as they all seemed nice and had really cool names. At the end I optioned for a face and body scrub thinking that my skin might need some of it after the long winter. The body scrub is called Fine Deluxe and the face scrub is called Boost of Oxygen.
Fine Deluxe Body Scrub comes in a super adorable 200ml package. It has some Dead Sea salts that are doing the scrubbing, while the oils hydrate and nurture your skin. Because of the oil part I recommend that you do the scrub after you are finished washing your hair (just so your hair won’t get oily from your hands). This is the kind of product that I would usually overlook in a store, as I am too lazy to do body scrubs. But, know that I’ve tried it, I decided to make it my routine and use it once a week. The skin after using it is just so soft that you have to use it.
Boost of Oxygen is a gentle face scrub that comes in 150ml package. I don’t remember the last time that I used a face scrub. They are usually very harsh on my skin and leave it dry and in need of recovery. So, I gave up on them as my face was too sensitive. When I decided to try this one out I was a bit sceptical. When I first put it on my hand I thought it was a bit too watery. I keep forgetting that products with natural ingredients can’t have the consistency or the smell of the regular chemicals-filled products. After I’ve used it for the first time the effect of freshness on my face was soooo nice! The name totally suits it as I felt like my skin was breathing. It wasn’t dried or uncomfortable in any way, and I was so happy about that. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and my skin loves it. If you want a scrubbing product for your face that is gentle and natural and is not going to cause irritation I warmly recommend this one. It is going to stay a part of my routine for sure.

I love the idea of chemical free products – it’s crazy how much stuff we put on our face and skin that can potentially be harmful. The face scrub sounds wonderful!
